Sky Blues set for takeover bid
Jojar Dhinsa - who was born in the city - has revealed his intention to mount a bid for the club.
Dhinsa is heading a consortium, who have reportedly got Russian backing which would add to his own estimated fortune of £40 million.
"This is a completely serious bid - I want to buy Coventry City Football Club, and at the end of the season we will be approaching the club," he told the Coventry Evening Telegraph
"It's a package that will be lucrative to Coventry City Football Club - if run well, I see the club progressing like Birmingham City, because Coventry belong in The Premiership.
"Roman Abramovich put £150 million to £200 million into Chelsea and there's no reason why we can't match that or even beat it.
"I see no reason why we can't be challenging at the top of The Premiership or in European competitions within the next two or three years."
Meanwhile, former Sky Blues favourite Noel Whelan has stated his desire to return to the club.
The 29-year-old is available on a free transfer after being freed by Derby and is now eyeing a possible Highfield Road return.
"Coventry is a club with great character and top-flight pedigree and one of the names that belongs in The Premiership and I'd love a bash at helping them get back there," said Whelan.
"This is an important time in my career because I need a challenge I can really get my teeth into and fight for - helping Coventry get back where they belong would certainly fit that bill."
