Corbett extends Roots Hall contract
Southend United have extended the contract of striker Jimmy Corbett for another season at Roots Hall.
The 23-year-old was pleased to sort out his future with the Essex-based club, as Shrimpers boss Steve Tilson (pictured) looks to shape his squad for the next Third Division campaign.
"I'm pleased to have signed now, it just gets everything out of the way early on and I know where I'm at for next season," Corbett told the club's official website.
"Touch wood the injury from last year is fine, I've played some games and had no reaction - it's just a case of getting my fitness levels back up in pre-season and hopefully be pushing for first team starts next season."
