Addicks close in on Kezman

Dutch sources are suggesting Charlton Athletic are set to win the race for coveted PSV Eindhoven striker Mateja Kezman.

The Serbian seems certain to leave the Philips Stadion this summer and his performances for PSV have led to a flood of interest.

The likes of Aston Villa, Liverpool, Newcastle and Barcelona have all been linked, but it is being claimed that they will be headed off by Alan Curbishley's Addicks.

Kezman has made no secret of his desire to play in The Premiership and it appears as if he will get the chance to showcase his talents at The Valley, after interest from the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle cooled.

It is being claimed that an ‚é¼8 million deal is close to being struck, which would allow Kezman to link up with Charlton for pre-season training in July.

Curbishley could well bring in another new face, with Millwall midfielder Tim Cahill being linked with a move to The Valley.

A host of clubs have been linked with the Australian international, with Millwall said to be ready to listen to offers following their failure to reach The Premiership.

Everton and Aston Villa have been monitoring the situation, but Charlton are being tipped to win the race for his signature and keep him in London.
