Rebrov trains with Hammers

Tottenham Hotspur misfit Sergei Rebrov has been in training with Championship side West Ham United this pre-season.

The Ukrainian international striker spent the past 18 months on loan with Turkish giants Fenerbahce after failing to live up to expectations following his £11 million move to White Hart Lane from Dynamo Kiev in the summer of 2000.

Rebrov's agent Sandor Varga confirmed that the Eastern European striker is keen on returning to English football.

"Yesterday (Monday), he had a training (session) with the team (West Ham)," Varga told Sky Sports News.

"It was an interesting invitation, so Sergei decided to go look around and see the club and maybe we'll talk to them later this week.

"He would be excited to play again with Teddy (Sheringham), if possible.

"He actually arrived back from Fenerbahce to Tottenham, where he is contracted next season.

"But as I understand from management, they are ready to let him find another club, so he is looking around.

"His priority is to stay in The Premiership if possible, but, definitely, he would like to stay in the UK."

Varga revealed the player's regret that new boss Jacques Santini has decided to allow him find another club and that the striker may receive offers from other English and foreign clubs soon.

"He was very upset naturally," Varga added. "He hoped to continue with Tottenham - he was happy with a new coach and maybe a new career for him at Tottenham, but it is not up to him only.

"I hope this week we will have some offers from outside the UK, but Sergei prefers to stay in England.

"We have other offers in UK, but I don't want to say at this stage."
