Edmilson admits Barca interest

The talented stopper is keen on a move to one of Europe's stronger leagues and concedes that Barca would be his ideal destination.

''I'm attracted by La Liga and the Champions League,'' confirmed Edmilson.

''Jose Fuentes, my agent, should come to Lyon in the coming days to talk about my future.''

Whilst Edmilson is keen on a move, his club also concede that they are not opposed to a deal in principle - providing the price is right.

A projected fee of ‚é¼15 million has been mentioned, with Lyon reluctant to sell for any less than that stated.

''There has been no proposition big enough,'' said Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas.

''There were some but not high enough.

''We set a fee higher than the market value. Under such a value we won't release our players.

''However, there is still a topical proposition for Edmilson.

''We will talk about the topic this week.''
