Josemi set for Spain call

New Liverpool signing Josemi is being tipped for a call-up to the full Spain squad.

The former Malaga star - who will officially complete his switch to Anfield on Wednesday - is thought to be one of the players new Spain boss Luis Aragones will call into his international group.

Spain, who suffered a hugely disappointing Euro 2004, play their first game under the charge of Aragones against Venezuela on August 18.

Josemi is expected to be given the opportunity to prove himself on the international stage where he will compete with Michel Salgado for the right back berth.

Barcelona's Carles Puyol was used at full back by Spain at Euro 2004 but Aragones is believed to want to use the Barca star in the heart of his defence.

Other players tipped to be selected for the first time by Aragones include Athletic Bilbao's Asier del Horno and Atletico Madrid's Antonio Lopez.
