Pedersen happy with debut
Morten Gamst Pedersen has expressed his delight with his Blackburn debut.
Morten Gamst Pedersen has expressed his delight with his Blackburn debut against Manchester United, but was disappointed not to score. The Norwegian winger was thrown straight into the starting line-up 24 hours after completing his switch from Tromso and he was happy with his showing
"It was really fun to play, even though it became a really hardworking game for me," Gamst Pedersen told VG.
"It was unusual to play with so many new team-mates. I only had half a training session behind me and I sat and tried to learn the names at the hotel room ahead of the game.
"That just tells it all. But now that I have started I think it will get better in two or three games."
Pedersen revealed Rovers boss Graeme Souness was also pleased with debut.
"He was really pleased with my performance and he wished me well for the national team game," said Pedersen.
Pedersen missed a glorious chance in the second half to score and it proved costly as United equalised in injury time to salvage a point.
"I should have scored there. I went on a long run and got on the ball in big space. I decided early to finish high, but the ball went a half a metre above the goal. But that is football," added Pedersen
"We were 20 seconds away from getting three points. It was bitter, but that's the way it goes."
