Dellas worry for Roma

Trianos Dellas is set to miss this weekend's Serie A opener with Fiorentina through injury.

The former Sheffield United defender picked up a calf injury on international duty with Greece and was forced to fly back to Italy for treatment.

Dellas has undergone scans on the injury and the tests have shown he has strained his calf.

Roma's medical staff are now working round the clock to have Dellas fit for the clash with Fiorentina at Stadio Olimpico.

Should Dellas fail to recover, it leaves Roma coach Rudi Voller with a major defensive problem, as Cristian Chivu and Matteo Ferrari are both out injured while Philippe Mexes is suspended.
