Marcel Desailly has moved to Qatar, despite having talks with Barcelona earlier this week.
Marcel Desailly has joined Qatarian side Al Gharafa, despite having talks with Barcelona earlier this week.Barca considered a move for Desailly due to their huge injury list, but when no news came he opted to join Al Gharafa, formerly known as Al Ithihad.
However, Desailly has now decided to follow the route of a host of world footballing stars and finish his career in The Middle East.
"I am quite happy to move to Qatar," said Desailly.
"Mentally, I am ready to play here."
Desailly was pondering his playing future since leaving Chelsea in the summer, but he has now decided to move to the Gulf State.
Some of the other stars already playing in Qatar include Gabriel Batistuta, Frank Lebouef, Josep Guardiola and the De Boer brothers Ronald and Frank.
