Olof: I don't like Blues

Olof Mellberg has admitted he does not like Birmingham ahead of the derby.

Olof Mellberg has admitted he does not like Birmingham City on the eve of England's second city derby on Sunday.

The Aston Villa skipper has spoken ahead of the live Sky Sports encounter and responded to a question asking if he could follow Dwight Yorke's lead and play for both Midlands clubs.

"I just feel, I've got the feeling, that I just don't like them," he told Sky Sports News.

"That's just the feeling I get from the whole club and the fans.

"My feelings from the games.

"It is the biggest derby I have played and derbies are probably the biggest games overall in club football so Birmingham City is not an option for me, no."

Mellberg remembers some classic battles between the two clubs in his time at Villa Park and is relishing this weekend's clash.

"Those games will always be bigger than the games we're playing now because it was their first year in The Premiership and we hadn't played each other for a long time," he added.

"They were the underdogs but the games this season will be different for sure."
