Old Firm pair Nacho Novo and Henri Camara have been hit with bans by The Scottish Football Association.

Celtic striker Camara and Rangers forward Novo were hauled before an SFA disciplinary panel following a fiery clash between the Old Firm rivals earlier in the season.

The video review panel deemed the pair had cases to answer after studying footage of the game.

Camara was caught on camera aiming a kick at Gregory Vignal, while Novo was found guilty of stamping on Stephen Pearson.

The SFA disciplinary panel have handed out one-match bans and given the pair 12 disciplinary points each for their indiscretions.

The additional points take Novo and Camara through the disciplinary threshold, which means Camara misses a further game and Novo two additional matches, both effective from December 28.

Gers boss Alex McLeish has expressed disappointment with Novo's punishment.

"I'm extremely disappointed," said Big Eck. "I don't know if there's a lot to add to that.

"But what I will say is that I'm at a loss as to why that incident should be picked up and highlighted when there were so many other incidents during the game."
