Porto's maverick forward Carlos Alberto has claimed a host of big names across Europe are jostling for his signature.

The diminutive Brazilian shot into the limelight last season when he starred in Porto's unexpected capture of the UEFA Champions League, under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho.

Despite being used sparingly in domestic action, Alberto proved himself a capable performer on the European scene and has now claimed he has received a very inviting offer.

''I received a good proposal from a club that I always dreamed to represent since I was a child and where some of my friends have already played,'' revealed Carlos Alberto.

''But it does not depend on me. Any decision will depend on the controllers of Porto.''

The player refused to divulge the names of those clubs that have been in contact, but did concede that last summer Paris Saint Germain made a concerted effort to claim his signature.

''Last summer I had a ‚é¼10 million proposal from Paris Saint Germain but Porto did not accept,'' he continued.

With several clubs having been made aware of Carlos Alberto's desire to try his talent on a different stage, the man Mourinho had no doubts about signing, could well be on his way out of Porto in the not too distant future.

''Luis Goncalves from the scouting department suggested Carlos Alberto from Fluminense,'' reveals Mourinho in his official biography.

''It only took one game for me to make up my mind about signing him.''
