Three midfielders emerged as the best players, two young left wingers and a player that has become a vital part of Everton's success so far this season.

Special mention goes to Gabor Kiraly who was the top-rated goalkeeper, John Terry, who was your top defender and Tottenham's Jermaine Defoe, who got the best average rating for a striker.

Arjen Robben

An injury frustrated Robben on his arrival to England, but when he finally got back to fitness, the Dutch youngster had an explosive impact for The Blues. Some genuinely breathtaking goals and the kind of wing-play that gives full backs nightmares earned Robben the plaudits of skysports.com readers.

Stewart Downing

Middlesbrough fans have been talking about their latest boy wonder for a long time now, but a series of crucial goals, as well as trickery, pace and the ability to deliver the killer ball, have made this youngster one of the finds of this season. Sven Goran Eriksson is all set to hand him an England cap in the New Year, and he may yet prove to be the answer to his nation's lack of quality on the left wing.

Thomas Gravesen

He's always been underrated but Denmark star Gravesen has been the man who is most responsible for Everton's resurgence this season. Combative when he needs to be, but with the ability to pick out the right option and a tendency to score important goals, Gravesen is well worth his place in your top three.
