PSG in Semak talks
PSG coach Vahid Halilhodzic has confirmed he wants to sign Sergei Semak.
Paris Saint Germain coach Vahid Halilhodzic has confirmed he wants to sign the player who knocked his club out of European competition - Sergei Semak. The CSKA Moscow playmaker's hat-trick at Parc des Princes in the UEFA Champions League ensured PSG would have no European football to look forward to in the spring.
Semak's display clearly impressed PSG chief Halilhodzic, who has made bringing the Russia international to Ligue 1 a priority.
Halilhodzic is hoping a deal for the é¼3 million-rated schemer can be thrashed out during January's transfer window.
"He is a very interesting player," said Halilhodzic. "We have already had preliminary negotiations for the player."
PSG's French rivals Monaco have already snubbed the chance to snap up Semak, who is unaware of the talks regarding his future.
"I haven't been told about my transfer by anybody," Semak told Sovyetskiy Sport. "And nobody from CSKA told me that PSG are interested in me.
"I'm reading such news, like you, from the newspapers. At the moment I'm a CSKA player and I'm happy with that."
