Elliott blow for Hull

Hull City's top-scorer Stuart Elliott has fractured his cheekbone.

The Northern Ireland international has plundered 23 goals this season, but he is now set for at least six weeks on the sidelines.

"It looks as though Stuart Elliott has fractured a cheekbone," said Tigers boss Peter Taylor.

"He needs an operation immediately and he's probably going to be out for six weeks.

"We're not convinced it was accidental and will be having a look at the video.

"It is a big blow for us and I feel for Stuart because with the way he was going he could have reached a high goalscoring record this year and that would have been lovely for him.

"Anyway, he'll miss around ten matches and hopefully he'll be back fit and well soon after that."
