L'OM starlet in demand

One of France's hottest talents - Samir Nasri, is attracting strong interest.

One of France's hottest talents - Samir Nasri, is attracting strong attention from The Premiership.

Liverpool, Newcastle and Southampton are all reported to have registered their interest in the Marseille starlet.

Nasri was the leading light of the French Under-17 side which lifted the European title in the summer and he bagged the winner against Spain in the final.

The 17-year-old is considered to have a huge future ahead of him and l'OM were fearful they may lose him - similar to the way in which they lost Mathieu Flamini to Arsenal in the summer.

With this in mind, Nasri was handed a three-year professional deal in August 2004 - just two months after he turned 17.

Nasri has already broken into the Marseille first team and he scored his first goal in the win over Lille last weekend.

Marseille are desperate to hang on to the likes of Nasri and Ahmed Yahiaoui - recently linked with Chelsea - but know they face a tough fight to fend off interest from across The Channel.
