Sochaux's Jeremy Menez has explained why he snubbed Manchester United.
Sochaux's starlet Jeremy Menez explained his decision to snub Manchester United, after scoring his first hat-trick for the senior side at the weekend.Menez was approached by The Red Devils as part of their drive to bring the cream of Europe's top talent to Old Trafford.
Although he visited Manchester and took in United's game against Everton, Menez decided to remain at Sochaux - and he underlined his potential with three goals against Bordeaux this weekend.
"When I knew Sir Alex Ferguson was interested in me it was a great shock," said Menez. "It was something great.
"I have visited the facilities and I was in the stands for the match against Everton.
"But finally I chose to stay with Sochaux's academy because they had shown such faith in me.
"I didn't want to leave as a thief - that's all."
