Anders Svensson does not envisage staying at Southampton, despite being told he will be offered a new contract.The Sweden international's present deal expires at the end of the season and his future at St Mary's has been uncertain for some time.
He has been in and out of the team since Harry Redknapp replaced Steve Wigley as manager and recently admitted he was not expecting the offer of an extension.
But the 28-year-old concedes there is now an offer from Saints chairman Rupert Lowe in the pipeline but he is not planning to sign the deal.
"I have heard from the chairman that they plan to offer a new contract but unfortunately I can't see any future there," Svensson told Sportbladet.
Svensson moved to the South Coast from Elfsborgs in 2001 and has made 140 appearances for Saints.
He has been linked with a return to Elfsborgs but the midfielder admits he has yet to make a decision on his future for when his contract expires.
"What my agent and I are working on right now, we keep to ourselves," he added. "But nothing is signed.
"I have to concentrate on the remaining league matches. We have got a tough time ahead of us."
