QPR seal Sturridge deal
QPR have signed Wolves striker Dean Sturridge on a free transfer on Friday.
Queens Park Rangers have completed the free transfer signing of striker Dean Sturridge from Championship rivals Wolves. The former Derby County and Leicester City hit-man is expected to be available for Saturday's trip to bottom club Rotherham United after putting pen-to-paper on an 18-month contract at Loftus Road on Friday.
The 31-year-old has struggled this season with thigh and hamstring problems and will hope his move to West London will give his career a boost.
QPR boss Ian Holloway was delighted to secure the services of an experienced striker like Sturridge.
"He's a player who knows exactly where the back of the net is and I'm delighted he's chosen to come to QPR," Holloway told the club's official website.
"He's been out of the picture a little at Wolves, but I know just what he is capable of.
"He is a player who will help take us forward and by signing a striker of this calibre, we are making a clear statement of our ambition."
