Milan midfielder Kaka has called for tough measures against those involved in racist chanting. The mercurial Brazilian is currently back in his homeland, preparing for forthcoming World Cup qualifiers, and has now spoken out against racist supporters.
Kaka believes offenders should be re-educated and punished, whilst admitting that the problem tarnishes football both in Europe and South America.
"I have already spoken about this with Italian journalists and it's a very serious problem because it happens all the time inside many football pitches,'' said Kaka.
''And it's not only in the stands.
''I think that it's an education problem, so the only way in making people get educated about this is with a serious punishment.
''I know that there is also racism in Brazil but it's more frequent in Europe.
''When black players from South America get to Europe they have these problems and that has to be changed.''
