David Navarro has been forced to pull out of the Spain squad after picking up and injury and will now miss their match against Serbia & Montenegro on Wednesday.

The Valencia defender pulled a muscle in his left leg and after tests confirmed that he would need to rest, it was decided that he would not travel to Belgrade.

Spain take on Serbia & Montenegro in the crunch World Cup qualifier on Wednesday and Navarro was in with a chance of making his international debut.

But after discussions with doctors in Madrid and coach Luis Aragones, he has returned home with no replacement being called into the party.
