Dortmund eye Broich move

Borussia Dortmund are reported to be weighing up a move for Thomas Broich.

Borussia have targeted Broich as a possible replacement for Tomas Rosicky with the Czech Republic international reportedly unhappy at the Westfalenstadion.

Rosicky is believed to be keen to find himself a new club over the summer and a bid of ‚é¼10 million would be too good to resist for Dortmund, who are in desperate need of a cash injection in order to balance their books and the sale of Rosicky would hand coach Bert Van Marwijk the necessary funds to bring in some fresh faces.

Dortmund's sports manager Michael Zorc admitted that former German Under-21 international Broich, who has fallen out with Monchengladbach's coach Dick Advocaat, is among the candidates to succeed Rosicky.

‚Ç£He is a fine footballer with great talent,‚Ç¥ said Zorc.

If Broich should become available in the summer despite a contract at Gladbach until 2007, Dortmund are expected to face competition from the likes of Wolfsburg, Hannover and 1860 Munich for his signature.
