Shrewsbury Town have completed the signing of American youth international Jay Denny. The 19-year-old midfielder has moved to Gay Meadow after being released by Stoke City.
"There was a bit of a debate at Stoke whether he should stay or not, John Rudge thought he should have stayed but they couldn't make their minds up," said Town boss Gary Peters.
"Instead of just letting him go they allowed us to assess him at the end of the season for a month, training and playing games.
"They allowed Jay to come to us as long as they got part of a resale deal."
