Frings unhappy in spotlight
Torsten Frings says he is unhappy at Bayern Munich due to media commitments.
Torsten Frings has revealed that his unhappiness at Bayern Munich stems from being under the glare of the media at the German giants.The midfield ace has failed to settle at his new surroundings since moving from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund last summer, and it is expected that he will leave for pastures new when the transfer window opens.
Frings has come under attack from Bayern managing director Uli Hoeness who criticised his level of performance despite making 32 appearances in the double winning season.
After being heavily linked with a return to his former club Werder Bremen, Frings has now declared that he is unhappy in the intense spotlight that being at Germany's biggest side entails.
"It isn't the competition for a place in the team that is the problem, but at Bayern you have to be available for the papers and TV every day and that's what I am not keen on at all," said Frings.
"I am a calm guy and don't need this hurly-burly.
"I won't change my character, that's for certain and it's not my problem if somebody else can't accept this."
Bremen have been closely monitoring his situation as they look to replace Schalke bound Fabian Ernst, and will be encouraged by Frings's apparent discontent.
However the 28-year-old currently earns in the region of ‚é¼3 million per annum at Bayern, and would have to be prepared to take a pay cut to facilitate any deal with Bremen.
