Jussi agrees Bolton deal

Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen has agreed a new three-year contract.

Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen has agreed a new three-year contract, skysports.com can exclusively reveal.

The Finnish shot-stopper had yet another superb campaign last term and played a major role in helping Bolton achieve their best-ever Premiership place, as they finished seventh - which also booked them a place in the Uefa Cup for the first time in their history.

Jaaskelainen originally opened talks with Bolton earlier this year, but the discussions faltered.

Now Bolton have moved to tie Jaaskelainen down and fend off any possible interest from around The Premiership.

"I can confirm Jussi has agreed a three-year deal, it has all been agreed," his agent Peter Harrison told skysports.com.

"Jussi is delighted it has all been sorted out and he will be signing when he returns from holiday.

"He is really looking forward to next season when Bolton will make their European debut."

Jaaskelainen will now be tied to Bolton until 2008 once he inks the deal upon his return to England later this month.

Bolton are now on the look out for a new number two to Jaaskelainen.

Swiss ace Sebastian Roth has been linked, but so has Lyn's very highly-rated Omani international Ali Al-Habsi.
