Levante go for Riga
Spanish side Levante have swooped to sign Riga Mustapha from Sparta.
Spanish side Levante have swooped to sign Riga Mustapha from Dutch outfit Sparta.Levante slipped out of the Primera Liga at the first time of asking and have earmarked Mustapha as a player capable of firing in the goals in the second tier of the Spanish league.
Mustapha netted 22 goals last term and is expected to sign on the dotted line provided he passes a medical.
Sparta earned promotion via the play-offs and the news of Mustapha's decision to head out of the club on a Bosman free transfer will come as a blow to the Rotterdam outfit.
Sparta will have to revamp their squad this season as they have already lost Danny Koevermans to AZ Alkmaar and Yevgeny Levchenko to Groningen, while Ricky van den Bergh is rumoured to be on his way to Boavista.
