Xisco set for Betis move

Xisco has announced that he set to join Real Betis next week on a free transfer.

Xisco has announced that he set to join Real Betis next week on a free transfer after Valencia signed David Villa and Patrick Kluivert to increase their forward line.

The 25-year-old striker will sign a six-year deal with the Andalucian outfit and help spearhead their debut campaign in the UEFA Champions League next season.

With Marco Di Vaio, Mista and Miguel Angel Angulo all vying for a place in Valencia's front line along with the two new signings, Xisco believes that he will feature even less next term and is looking forward to his imminent move to Betis.

"I am leaving to join Betis," he stated. "They are not just a team, but a family and I will give everything I have to them.

"The project that they have looks very good to me and that is why I have decided to join them."

Xisco knows the city of Seville well after spending two seasons at neighbours Recreativo de Huelva and that influenced his choice.

"I enjoyed my time down there a lot and not just because I played regularly and scored goals, but because I enjoyed the lifestyle too.

"Betis were my first choice because of the coach they have, the way the club is run and the president. They are very ambitious and I want to prove that I can be a success there."

Xisco played just 14 times last term under Claudio Ranieri and then Antonio Lopez, netting three goals.

After coming through the ranks at La Mestalla, Xisco was loaned out twice to Recre and also spent a season at Tenerife.
