Kapsis makes Olympiakos move

Olympiakos have signed Bordeaux defender Michalis Kapsis.

Olympiakos have succeeded in bringing Bordeaux defender Michalis Kapsis back to Greece.

The big stopper, who played in Greece's Euro 2004 winning side, has penned a two-year deal at Olympiakos.

The deal also includes an option to extend Kapsis' stay by a further year should both parties concur on an extension.

The former AEK and Ethnikos Piraeus player expressed that he decided to sign for his new side due to a lack of ambition at his previous employers.

"I am very happy to sign for a big club like Olympiakos," said Kapsis.

"The ambitions of Bordeaux were not big and that's why I wanted to leave the French club.

"I want to thank the directors of Bordeaux because they weren't an obstacle to my wish.

"I am pleased to be here for Olympiakos and I promise to try my best in order to help the team reach their targets.

"I wish to help Olympiakos with my experience to do something great in the European competitions."
