Ronaldo has denied reports that he would quit international football after the World Cup.

The Brazilian superstar was quoted on the Spanish press as saying that he would hang up his international boots after the 2005 World Cup.

However, the Real Madrid man told the Brazilian media that he had been seriously misquoted.

"I never said what has been published in Spain," said Ronaldo. "I have been misquoted.

"I never said that I was going to leave the national team after the next World Cup.

"The Brazilian national team is part of my life in the same way that football is.

"I haven't even started to think about the chance of putting an end to my career yet.

"I don't know what I am going to do in the future, but what I am sure of is that I will keep on playing for the national team while I keep on playing football and I am selected."
