Cullip enters the Forest

Nottingham Forest have signed defender Danny Cullip from Sheffield United.

Nottingham Forest have signed defender Danny Cullip for an undisclosed fee from Championship side Sheffield United.

The 28-year-old joins the League One club on a three-year contract ahead of the new campaign that begins on Saturday.

The former Oxford United, Fulham, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion player leaves Bramall Lane after a short spell with the South Yorkshire club.

Cullip had only joined The Blades in a £400,000 deal from Brighton last December before finishing last season on loan at Watford in a deal that saw Danny Webber join Neil Warnock's side at the time.

Cullip is looking forward to restoring Forest's prestige within the English game following relegation last term.

"Forest is a club with a great deal of potential - it's a fantastic set-up and I'm delighted to be part of it," Cullip told the club's official website.

"The fact that I've dropped down from The Championship to League One isn't problem for me because I get the impression that everything at Forest is geared towards getting Forest back up there again - if not higher.

"I may have left a Championship club but will do my utmost to try and help Forest fulfil their ambitions."
