Postma set for Fulham

Stefan Postma is poised to end his Aston Villa misery by joining Fulham.

Stefan Postma is poised to end his Aston Villa misery by joining Fulham.

The Dutch goalkeeper has travelled to London to discuss a half-season loan switch to Craven Cottage.

Postma has endured a frustrating career at Villa Park and has made just 13 appearances since joining from De Graafschap three years ago.

He has been vocal in his determination to quit the Midlands side during the past few months and had been linked with a return to Holland with NEC Nijmegen.

An unknown Spanish side were also keen on the 29-year-old but Postma is now primed to stay in The Premiership.

Fulham boss Chris Coleman has moved for Postma in a bid to ease his goalkeeping crisis in West London.

Summer signing Jaroslav Drobny is set to miss the start of the season with a knee injury and that would leave just Mark Crossley as his sole senior option.

The sale of Edwin van der Sar to Manchester United has also left Coleman devoid of experience between the posts and that has prompted his swoop for Postma.
