Sam impressed by Nakata
Sam Allardyce was impressed by Hidetoshi Nakata's desire to play in England.
Sam Allardyce has admitted he was taken by Hidetoshi Nakata's desire to play in The Premiership.Bolton have agreed a 12-month loan deal with Fiorentina for the Japanese international, but the move is subject to Nakata securing a work permit and passing a medical.
Allardyce believes Nakata will be short of the required fitness needed to flourish in The Premiership, but expects him to make an impact in the new season.
"I am excited about the fact that when I met him in Japan he was so determined to play in The Premiership," Allardyce said of the former Roma man.
"Him and his agent have done a great job in helping us secure a 12-month contract."
Allardyce is aware the midfielder will have to work hard in training in order to adapt to the rigorous nature of The Premiership.
"He will be very fit, we know that, he has done all the work with Fiorentina but it is not the same as what is required for playing in The Premiership," added the Trotters chief.
Allardyce believes Bolton will benefit from securing the services of one of Japan's most famous sportsmen.
"Many Asian people will be aware of us after we played out there and they'll be excited about one of their own playing in Bolton's team," stated Allardyce.
