Ward rejected Hammers

Darren Ward has revealed that he snubbed West Ham to join Crystal Palace this summer. The defender kick-started Palace's season on Saturday with the only goal of the game in the win over Plymouth and Ward claims he feels his Premiership dream can be fulfilled at Selhurst Park.
Ward claims he could have been playing in The Premiership this season, but says he did not want to force his brother Elliott into the shadows at Upton Park.
"It was hard in the summer when deciding where to go," said the former Millwall man. "Norwich and West Ham were in for me, but Palace felt right.
"Moving to West Ham was close, but there was a reason I didn't go there and I am sure everyone can work it out - I didn't want to leave my brother on the bench.
"He didn't know much about it, but I couldn't have done it anyway."
Palace have started slowly back in The Championship, but Ward feels Iain Dowie can lead the club on a successful promotion charge.
"This is the right move for me and Iain Dowie really sold the place. I was very impressed and wouldn't have come if I didn't think we were able to achieve big things here," added Ward.
