Siena beat big guns to Tudor

Siena have beaten off competition from a host of big names to land Igor Tudor

Siena have beaten off competition from a host of big names to secure the services of defender Igor Tudor.

The Croatian enjoyed a fine loan spell at Siena last term and they have been striving to land his signature on a permanent basis.

However, with Juventus willing to let the defender move on, he attracted interest from Parma, Lazio and Bolton.

Bolton thought they had won the race for his signature when striking a deal with Juve, but their hopes were dashed when Tudor failed to arrive in England for talks.

Tudor's no-show in England appeared to leave the door open for Lazio, but they have been beaten to the punch by Siena who have secured another season-long loan.

Siena are also being tipped to wrap up a deal for Jonathan Bachini, with the player given the chance to resurrect his career after his lengthy suspension due to a failed drugs test.

Bachini picked up a nine-month ban last year and his career appeared to be in tatters, but Siena are ready to give him the chance to bounce back.
