Crawford joins Dons
Aberdeen have signed Dundee United striker Stevie Crawford on a two-year deal.
Aberdeen have signed Scotland striker Stevie Crawford on a two-year deal after severing his ties with Dundee United. The former Dunfermline Athletic hit-man ends his time at Tannadice after joining The Terrors in an £80,000 deal from English Championship side Plymouth Argyle back in January.
The 31-year-old agreed a severance package with the Tayside club before moving to the Granite City to join Jimmy Calderwood's squad before Wednesday's transfer deadline.
The summer arrivals of Lee Miller and David Fernandez have seen Crawford become surplus to requirements at United, so the striker has taken the chance to reunite himself with his former Pars boss in Calderwood.
"It is no secret that we have been searching for a quality striker and Stevie certainly fits that bill," said a Pittodrie spokesman.
Crawford was followed out the Tannadice exit door by Graeme Holmes on Wednesday after the midfielder agreed to leave United by mutual consent.
