Burdisso returns to Inter

Internazionale have been buoyed by the return of Nicolas Burdisso.

Internazionale have been buoyed by the return of Nicolas Burdisso, after seven months away from the club.

The illness of his daughter saw Inter, a club with a reputation for supporting their players in times of crisis, allow the Argentina international to leave the club and return to his homeland.

With Burdisso's daughter now recovering, the defender has returned with the bit between his teeth - believing he owes the club a debt of gratitude.

"The club, the coach and my team-mates have been fantastic," said Burdisso to Ole.

"I never felt that they would cancel my contract. Massimo Moratti is an incredible man.

"He offered me the impossible - as much time off as I needed.

"Inter are such a big club that they could have gone out and bought a whole new defence.

"But only Walter Samuel has come in and Mancini has included me in the (UEFA) Champions League squad.

"Let's hope we win it. I'm looking forward to paying back the faith that they have shown in me."
