Gordon happy at home

Craig Gordon's agent has stated that his client is not interested in a move abroad.

The agent for Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon says his client is not interest in a move abroad.

Agent George Wright claims the Scotland number one is keen to stay at the Edinburgh club and sign a new long-term deal with The Jambos.

Wright rubbished reports that Italian Serie A club Palermo have approached the Scottish Premier League leaders about the 22-year-old, with Hearts chairman George Foulkes having valuated Gordon at around £5 million.

"First things first - the Palermo story is pure and utter nonsense," Wright told the Daily Record. "They have not spoken to me and they haven't spoken to Hearts.

"In fact, my information is that they will sign AC Milan keeper Christian Abbiati, who is on loan to Juventus at the moment.

"Secondly, Craig isn't the least bit interested in moving abroad at this stage in his career.

"He is a very level-headed young man who knows his career is best served by staying in Britain.

"His first option is to stay at Hearts. He believes Hearts, under Mr Romanov, are ambitious and are going to be competing regularly in Europe.

"That is very important for Craig. If he is going to develop into a world-class keeper, he knows he has to be playing in European competition and at international level.

"He hopes and believes he will be able to achieve those goals at Hearts."
