Spurs seal Ghaly capture

Tottenham have completed the signing of Feyenoord midfielder Hossam Ghaly.

Tottenham have completed the signing of Feyenoord midfielder Hossam Ghaly.

The Egyptian international has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal at White Hart Lane after Tottenham agreed a deal with Feyenoord.

Tottenham boss Martin Jol has been looking to bolster his midfield options after allowing Pedro Mendes, Sean Davis and Wayne Routledge to leave for Portsmouth in the last few weeks.

The 25-year-old is highly-regarded and Spurs' sporting director Damien Comolli believes Ghaly will prove to be a valuable addition to the squad.

"I have watched Hossam since he was 17 years old," Comolli told the club's official website.

"He is a versatile, very physical and technically gifted midfielder who will offer us a number of playing options.

"He is a terrific addition to the squad."

Ghaly's arrival could pave the way for Michael Brown to make his move to Fulham before the transfer window slams shut on Tuesday.
