Double signing for Bees

Barnet have strengthened their defensive unit with two signings.

Barnet have strengthened their defensive unit with the signings of centre back Stevland Angus and goalkeeper Matt Read.

Angus joins the club on loan from Grays Athletic but has football league experience having played for Bournemouth, Hull City and Scunthorpe United.

The 25-year-old former West Ham United youth player joined Grays in August from Cambridge United but made just 13 appearances.

Reed will also link up with the squad having moved on loan to The Bees for a month from West Ham.

The goalkeeper will look to gain match experience during the short spell at the club after completing his scholarship at Upton Park and will initially act as back-up to Ross Flitney.

"I will work hard and bring a good attitude and try my best," Reed confirmed on Barnet's official website.

"I have worked with some great goalkeepers at West Ham and I hope to carry forward what I have learnt from them."
