Linderoth's Marseille dream

Tobias Linderoth wants to follow in his father's footsteps.

Sweden international Tobias Linderoth has admitted that it is his dream to join Marseille.

The FC Copenhagen midfielder was born in Marseille in 1979, the time that his father, Anders Linderoth, was a hero at the club.

The former Everton player has expressed his desire to follow in his father's footsteps, and hopes that a good performance in the World Cup could interest the French side.

"Marseille would be a dream move," Linderoth told Sportmagasinet.

"It would be fantastic to belong to that club, especially since my dad was there too.

"Olympique de Marseille will always be a big club and have fantastic fans."

However, the Swede is not interested in a return to The Premiership after a miserable spell at Everton.

"It didn't work at all at Everton. If I am not enjoying myself, I feel bad, and my performance drops accordingly," admitted the midfielder.

"I felt isolated after training and my wife felt the same. Here [in Copenhagen] we are enjoying ourselves more and I have got into the side as well."

Meanwhile, Linderoth's Copenhagen team saw saw off Norwegian outfit Lillestrom 1-0 to retain their Royal League title.

The competition sees the best four teams from Norway, Sweden and Denmark vie for the honour of the best team in Scandinavia.

Linderoth set up second half substitute Razak Pimpong for the winner in the dying seconds.

Pimpong was dismissed for his troubles, after receiving a second yellow card for his celebrations.

"It means a lot to me. Since I joined the club, I haven't been able to produce as well as I want to", the Ghanaian told Ritzau.

"I scored the winner and was so happy that I forgot I had a yellow card."

Linderoth also expressed his delight at the victory.

"It's really great to win titles and that we could defend our title," he told Kanal Five.
