Darcheville stays with Bordeaux

Bordeaux striker Jean-Claude Darcheville has signed a new deal at the club.

Bordeaux striker Jean-Claude Darcheville has ended speculation over his future by signing a new deal at the club.

The former Nottingham Forest man was strongly linked with a move away from Les Girondins this summer, with his current deal due to expire this summer.

New Rangers boss Paul Le Guen was thought to be keen on his signature, as he looks to reshape the squad at Ibrox.

However, Darcheville has decided to stay at Bordeaux, with the club looking forward to playing in the UEFA Champions League next season.

The powerful forward has agreed a one-year extension to his contract to keep him at Stade Chaban-Delmas.

"Jean-Claude Darcheville and FC Girondins de Bordeaux have agreed to continue their collaboration next season," a spokesman told the club's official website.
