The former French international has passed a medical and concurred terms on a two-year contract, with Barca reported to have paid the beleaguered Bianconeri a fee of é¼5 million (£3.5 million).
Thuram - who hung up his international boots after France's World Cup final defeat to Italy - has hailed his switch to Catalonia as a dream move.
"I am very pleased," the 34-year-old told the club's official website.
"To play at this club is the best thing that could happen to a footballer."
Thuram's versatility will prove a major asset to Barca, with the right back turned centre half having enjoyed a distinguished career.
The former Monaco and Parma player won four league titles at Juve, and will also be joined at Camp Nou by fellow Old Lady favourite, Gianluca Zambrotta.
