Feyenoord land Charisteas

Feyenoord have signed Angelos Charisteas from Eredivisie rivals Ajax.

The Greek striker, who scored the winning goal in the Euro 2004 final against Portugal, has agreed a three-year deal with Feyenoord.

The fee is believed to be ‚é¼2.5 million (£1.7 million).

26-year-old Charisteas had an impressive scoring record at Ajax but fell down the pecking order last season as Klaas Jan Huntelaar rose to prominence.

His move marks the first time in 14 years that Feyenoord have signed a player from Ajax.
