Real Madrid midfielder Guti has agreed to extend his contract until 2010.

Real Madrid midfielder Guti has agreed to extend his contract until 2010.

The 29-year-old's present deal expires in June 2008, but new boss Fabio Capello has been impressed by his enthusiasm and asked officials to secure his services for longer.

Director of sport Predrag Mijatovic was the first to hold talks with Guti, before president Ramon Calderon sealed the agreement.

He offered the Spaniard a lucrative deal and reassured him that Capello valued him as a key member of his squad.

Calderon has also said that he would like Guti to see out his career at the Bernabeu.

Guti has started just once for Real this term after overcoming a broken finger in pre-season.
