Cech doesn't remember incident

Petr Cech does not remember the incident which left him with a fractured skull.

Petr Cech has revealed he does not remember the incident which left him with a fractured skull.

The Chelsea goalkeeper suffered the horrific injury almost a fortnight ago during the champions' 1-0 victory at Reading.

The Czech Republic international was caught in the head by Stephen Hunt's knee just a minute into the game at The Madejski Stadium.

Cech is recovering at home after being released from hospital and does not want to dwell on the challenge which could keep him out of action for the rest of the season.

"The shake-hands is the last thing I remember because JT [John Terry] lost the toss and I had to run to the other side and that is the last thing," Cech told Chelsea TV.

"I don't even remember the kick-off and I don't remember the incident.

"I have seen it on TV once and I don't want to speak about this for the moment."

The 24-year-old continues to make positive progress from the injury and is happy he can turn up to Chelsea's training ground to be with his team-mates.

He added: "I am okay. I feel better and I am improving and I am happy to be at the training ground to see the lads.

"Sometimes it is difficult because you wake up and you have a horrible headache so you have to take your medication.

"I just try to live with that and every day it is going to get better."

Since the injury Cech has received support from all sections of football and he offered his gratitude to the well-wishers.

"I think it has been fantastic from everyone. It has been the players, the managers, the staff. It was everyone in Chelsea, including supporters.

"I got so many cards and letters from people outside, not involved in Chelsea, and I want to thank them all for that."
