Kamara wins October award
Diomansy Kamara, Billy Sharp and Jamie Forrester are October's Players of the Month.
West Bromwich Albion striker Diomansy Kamara has been named the Championship Player of the Month for October.The Senegal international joined by Scunthorpe United's Billy Sharp, who claims League One monthly prize, while Lincoln City's Jamie Forrester received the nod in League Two.
Kamara was voted the Championship's top player of last month after scoring six goals in five league games for The Baggies.
The former Modena and Portsmouth man, who turns 26 on Wednesday, helped the Black Country club remain among the promotion pacesetters in the division.
Sharp took the honours in League One after netting five goals in four games for The Iron during October, taking his goalscoring tally to 12 for the season.
As a result, the former Sheffield United hit-man has helped the Glanford Park club make real claims for promotion this term.
Forrester was the outstanding performer in League Two last month, scoring eight goals in five games for The Imps following his summer move from Bristol Rovers.
This included hat-tricks against both Barnet and Rochdale, while his winner at promotion rivals Swindon Town took him top of the goalscoring charts in the division.
