Wolves confirm midfielder bid
Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed a bid for Grays' Michael Kightly.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed their intention to sign Grays midfielder Michael Kightly on loan.
The Black Country club's chief executive Jez Moxey has revealed he is in discussions with his counterparts at Grays regarding a loan deal that could be made permanent.
Weekend reports suggested Wolves had all but wrapped up a deal, and though Moxey is hopeful of concluding the transfer, he admits there is still work to be done.
"We are in discussions with Grays Athletic about the possibility of taking Michael Kightly on loan, and there maybe an option to buy," Moxey told Wolves' official website.
"We made good progress with those talks over the weekend and I expect to speak to the player in due course."
A former Southend trainee, Kightly, 20, spent a spell on loan with Farnborough before joining Grays in July 2005.
