Serie A round-up

Palermo cruised to a 3-0 win over Livorno, while Reggina beat Ascoli 2-1.

Palermo moved to within one point of Roma in second with a 3-0 victory over Livorno.

Fabio Simplicio (pictured) pounced for Palermo in only the second minute and from then on Livorno were firmly on the back foot.

Carvalho Amauri struck after 36 minutes and Simplicio grabbed his second of the night 11 minutes from time.

Regina continued their climb towards safety with a 2-1 victory over fellow strugglers Ascoli.

Alessandro Lucarelli broke the deadlock for Reggina after 28 minutes, before Nicola Amoruso added a second in the 76th minute.

Marco Pecorari pulled a goal back with seven minutes to go but Ascoli could not force an equaliser.

Reggina, who started the season with a 15-point penalty, remain bottom of Serie A but are now just one adrift of Ascoli.
