Gers starlet signs new deal
Rangers youngster Lee Robinson has signed a new deal at Ibrox.
Rangers youngster Lee Robinson has signed a new deal at Ibrox. The talented goalkeeper has agreed a deal to keep him at Rangers until 2009.
Robinson is highly regarded within the corridors of Ibrox and he made his first-team debut last season.
The player's agent Graeme Smith says Gers boss Paul Le Guen is a big fan of Robinson.
"Paul (Le Guen) spoke with Lee before he signed the new deal," Smith told the Daily Record.
"The club's management rate Lee highly and they were keen for him to stay, sign a new deal and take his development to the next stage and eventually challenge for the first-team goalkeeping spot.
"Lee has signed until 2009. The main thing from Lee's point of view is that Allan McGregor has established himself as the No.1 but the other two keepers, Lionel Letizi and Stefan Klos, are coming to the end of their careers.
"So in terms of his long-term future it gives him a chance, an opportunity to stay on and when he is more experienced fight for his place with Allan."
