Skela boosts Energie

Bundesliga outfit Energie Cottbus have signed Albania international Ervin Skela.

The 30-year-old Ascoli playmaker agreed a two-and-a-half-year contract at the Stadium of Friendship at the weekend.

"Ervin Skela is the man we really wanted to strengthen our offensive midfield," said delighted Energie general manager Steffen Heidrich.

"He will be bringing a whole load of Bundesliga experience to Cottbus and we are convinced that he will be of great value to the team."

Skela, who enjoyed successful spells with Arminia Bielefeld, Eintracht Frankfurt and Kaiserslautern before moving to Italy, is expected to make his debut for the eastern German outfit in a friendly against Fenerbahce on Wednesday.
